What are
Chinese herbs?
Oriental Medicine has a long and sophisticated herbal history. Chinese
herbs are medicines with few, if any, side effects. Many of the
herbs used have been adopted by western herbalists. What makes them
Chinese is the system of usage; the herbs use Chinese medicine thought
and theory to treat a patient's specific condition and constitution.
They are used in custom-made formulas to treat each individual specifically.
They are effective for many acute and chronic problems. This practice
uses high quality herb granules, patent medicines, and raw herbs.
Often the use
of Chinese Herbal Medicine in conjunction with regular acupuncture
treatments greatly improves a patient's recovery from illness. The
two work extremely well together, and in fact, the two are considered
two branches of the same medicine. If a person does not wish to
receive acupuncture, she or he may choose to visit Lynn for herbal
consultations only.
